Need a credit card debt pep talk?

credit card pep talkI avoid talking about debt a lot. Credit card debt, specifically. Which might sound a little crazy because I know it’s on your mind. It’s on my mind too. I hate debt. But I avoid writing about it because of its energy.

It’s heavy. It’s loaded with shame.

And it’s stealing your power and keeping you in fear.

Screw debt!

What even is debt? It’s not a tangible thing. Not something you can hold in your hand. In some ways it’s not even real, merely numbers on a page.

Debt also represents the past. You can’t change the past, but you can reframe it. You NEED to reframe it.

Stop allowing debt to bring negative energy into your life. Stop giving debt your POWER.

So you have some debt. It doesn’t change who YOU are. It doesn’t change your worth. It’s time to rewrite the script.

Pay attention to the thoughts and feelings that come up for you when you think of your debt, when you get a statement in the mail, or have to login to make a payment.

Then start to rewrite the script.

Consider what your debt DID for you. It allowed you to have something in your life you wouldn’t have otherwise been able to buy. Did it allow you to see a beautiful foreign country? Get you through a health crisis? Even if it bought you a killer wardrobe. Whatever it is, feel grateful for what it brought to your life. Focus on those feelings.

Bless it, and be done with it.

Then get into action.

Getting into action means starting to track your spending, looking at your numbers and making active changes. The Money With Moxie Community is here to support you along the way!
